Information about St. Joseph's
The curriculum is designed to enlarge the children's knowledge, experience and skills. in planning the curriculum care is taken to ensure that we offer breadth, balance, continuity and progression. We also undertake to ensure that there is equality of opportunity and that special educational needs are catered for in line with the code of practise for special needs.
We recognise fully that children have individual needs; interests and that they are at different stages of developement. Each teacher will therefore employ a range of differing teaching strategies and styles to cater for whole class, small groups and individual learning activities.
Pastoral care is seen as the joint responsibility of all adult members within the school along with parents and Monsignor Kirkwood. Close home/school/church links are fostered. Parent are always welcome to a short informal word with teachers at either the beginning or the end of the school day. Alternatively you may wish to make and appointment with the class teacher or the headteacher so that matters of concern can be discussed confidentially.
